Best Banking Brand on the African Continent?

Standard Bank issued a press release (paid, News 24 18 April 2022), notifying the public that the bank has been voted the best banking brand on the African Continent. The bank states that they believe that this is because their customers believe the bank offers them the safest banking environment, that they have implemented processes and systems to resist attacks from the ******** ***** syndicates which has reflected in their current status as the best banking brand on the African continent. Unfortunately, as one of their long standing customers of most of their service offerings over a period of over 25 years, I cannot agree with their current view. A large sum of money was taken out of my account (Saturday, 26 March 2022) within minutes of ********* *****ing my debit card (new chip, you only need to tap) at the only ATM still active after the bank closed their local branch and ATMs in the Sunninghill, Paulshof area. This ATM has become a favourite for ******** activity, according to local security personnel, easy access in to the centre where the ATM is and easy access out, just two aspects that favour he *********, the other being easy, quick access to the highway and of course ****** number plates help the ********* escape time and time again and yet the Standard Bank still leaves these ATMs in this centre, not placing them in a more secure centre, that has far more foot traffic and where they used to have a branch and an ATM? Clearly the ******** customers are favoured. Having lodged a case with their ***** investigation unit, the branch informed me that I should wait 6 working days before requesting feedback. After 8 working days, at great cost to me (holding on for a minimum of 5 minutes before speaking to anyone) phoning from my mobile number to their 0860 ***** number, I was told that they apologise sincerely for the inconvenience, but the person that logged my case on their system did not complete a specific field on the system and the case was not forwarded to their investigating unit that I should follow up the following Tuesday (i.e. I should follow up, providing any feedback to their valued customer is not on their customer service radar at all). 15 working days later and still not one word from Standard Bank, having emailed the agent that logged my case as well as emailed their *** address that they provide when you hold on forever listening to their recording. The public should be aware that there are ******** syndicates the are using Standard Bank issued EFT card swipe machines (issued to legitimate shops for processing payments using bank cards) that process transactions in remote provinces/areas within minutes of the ********* obtaining the customer's bank card at an ATM (a card ****** in Sunninghill triggered 4 different transactions off my account, one in Cape Town literally within 5 minutes of the card being ******). Standard Bank is responsible for the large sum of money that was withdrawn from my account in vastly different provinces/locations within minutes of the card being ******. The total lack of communication and lack of process (that they claim is one of the reasons why they are the most valued banking brand on the African continent) from Standard bank is not only disappointing but just adds to the level of anxiousness that accompanies crimes of this nature.
