Be wary. Standard Bank refuses to provide information relating to what qualifies specific staff members to handle my business accounts.

We are a legal firm who have our Business and Trust accounts with Standard Bank. Over the last two years we have had endless problems in dealing with our various business managers (account analysts or whatever they are called) to the point of us requesting a new Business Manager with experience of legal firms. We have been appointed a Cebi ***ane as our new analyst, with Manthe Ma****a as the Retail and Business Banking/ SE Entrepreneur / Business Manager and Prabashnee Pillay as the SE manager, all at the Rosebank branch. I have asked countless times to be informed of any of their qualifications and experience as they are in charge of my companies banking and monies. This is a very important role, I am sure you will agree. The bank has steadfastly refused to provide any information in this respect. This makes me very suspicious of the staff Standard Bank is assigning to their respective roles. It appears that the Bank simply puts anyone anywhere regardless of knowledge and experience and then simply ignores any questions. When I go to a doctor I expect to be able to confirm that he is qualified to treat me. This applies to any professional service I may make use of and yet it seems Standard Bank feels they are above this. I would expect that my bank will be open to providing me with this information. I feel that it is very arrogant for the bank to assume I will simply accept anyone they assign to my accounts. I can only advise anyone who is looking for a business bank to go elsewhere as I have had no problems with getting this information from, First National Bank or Nedbank.
