Banks not doing enough to extend lending to SME without red tapes.
I just have a very unsettling concern regarding banks helping SME by extending any form of landing. Here with my practical example. In 2019 November Standard bank initiated what the called BizFlex Loan link to individual Business Account in a form loan/overdraft. For me the amount was 70K. payment was structured on the percentage of any cash flow into the account will repay the loan up to 15% of incoming cash. For me I choose the max% for repayment therefore I was able to pay back within 7 months but to my surprise when Covid-19 affected everyone I couldn't access the facility again even I after paying in that short period. Since then 2020 July I still see the balance of 80K in that BizFlex Loan that is showing a positive balance but i cannot access it. According to me that form lending was working perfect to allow SME to access cash flow. I call on standard bank to review that BizFlex Loan offering. I will really like to get access to that lending facility.
