Banking that complicates every aspect of your life

Standard Bank is by far the worst bank I have ever dealt with. 1) There is a strong possibility that you won’t be able to use you bank cards between 9pm to 10pm as that is when the bank does a system restore. We were almost stranded at a restaurant when the cards didn’t work. Upon query that was the response 2) bank randomly deducts debit orders or doesn’t for the home loan 3) have an access bond, confirmed in writing that withdrawals can be made within 10 days. Suddenly we need to fill out forms to upgrade to access bond.

If this bank is your last resort, take a page from the Cyril handbook and put your money under your bed.
