Banking App & Internet Banking—Unfettered Ham-fistedness

Do the developers of Standard Bank’s Banking App and the Internet Banking platform bother to test their code before releasing it on the public?

It seems not, and the public is then left to deal with the ineptitude of those developers. The following two examples amply illustrate the point:

(1) It is not possible to complete the Banking App’s “Link & Secure Profile” feature, at least on an iPhone, because the developers clearly didn’t test it properly. One can get as far as the “Enter your ID number” point, and no further because the virtual keyboard covers the “Next” button and there is no way to remove the virtual keyboard once one has typed in the ID number. What a sad joke.

(2) The account details of any of one’s linked Stanlib unit trust accounts are illegible because the typeface and background colours chosen are almost identical. This is irrespective of the browser. I have brought this defect—which should take an experienced developer no more than 15 minutes to fix and test—to Standard Bank’s attention several times over the past few months via different platforms but the Bank very obviously hasn’t the slightest interest in attending to it.

All of the above strongly indicates that Standard Bank is only interested in giving the APPEARANCE, rather than the ACTUALITY, of caring about getting the basics right.
