Bad service from standard bank
My father passed away during the level 5 lockdown period. when level 3 came into effect my mother went too standard bank to close my fathers account but was turned away due to her age and not sure which restrictions. "Interest is occurring and bank fees are being charged for an account that is not in use." i emailed standard bank to enquire how to proceed with the matter and was advised to contact late estates with no feedback. its been 10 months now and we received a letter from the bank advising that my father owes on bank charges and interest. My mother went again during the level 1 and when the consultant saw the letter they told my mother to go to high court to resolve the matter. so its standards bank account and we need the high court to resolve the issue. i mean what type of service is this. how can bank charges even increment if there are no activity, couldn't this be picked up as well. i need someone from standard bank to contact my mother to resolve the matter as standard bank in eldorado park is *********** in resolving such issues.

Thank you for prompt feedback however in order to identify that you are speaking to the correct person is that I'm not banking with standard bank. The account in question relates to my fathers account which I mentioned and unfortunately I am unable to answer those questions for you as my father passed away in may of 2020 during the time of level 5 lockdown. His account is unused since he passed away. The second comment of the response is that my family and i was not aware that your estate lates were offline and thinking the staff was not as well as they did not mention in the reply to contact estate lates. It has been 10 months now and received 1 letter with outstanding bank charges, makes me wonder if an account is not used how long does it take to pick it up.
Coming to the bank charges, will the estate lates be dealing with resolving the matter, I'm not intending to submit required documentation across various departments.
Hoping to hear from you soon.
