ATM Machine swallowed card and was ****mmed 41,500 a minute later
On Wednesday, 2nd September I went to an ATM in Melville to withdraw some cash. I put in my card, then pin and thereafter the ATM just froze. Within 2 to 3 minutes I started receiving sms's of cash being withdrawn from my account in another ATM, a total of 41,500 was taken from my *** was withdrawn from savings account and R36000 was transfered from my savings then swiped into some COVID-19 relief account. The withdrawal was made in Auckland Park and the swiping of the card amounting to R36000 reflects somewhere in Centurion, while I'm standing next to the ATM in Melville. All THIS happening in a space of 5 minutes. When I realised all this, I called standard bank, It took roughly 45 minutes for my call to be answered so they can block my account. At this point, I'm still waiting at the ATM and unfortunately, the card never came out the machine. 3 days later I'm told my claim is declined because transactions made were done with my card and pin. I'm so traumatized at this point, it's only the 7th of the month, my debts, food, schools, fees. I've lost all hope.
Standard bank has not even once contacted me, I'm the one that keeps calling non stop. No investigation officer or anyone from ***** tried to call, all I no is my claim is declined and the hard earned saving which took me years to save have all gone.
1. I never received any comprehensive report on this 2.how possible is it that money can be withdrawn elsewhere using another card while I have the original card with me 3. A card swipes in Centurion while I'm standing in Melville, and further withdrawas 5500 in Auckland Park, all in a space of 4 minutes yet the investigators don't see that instead they just decline my claim. 5. The Bank fails to pick up that transactions were done with anotjer card, because I stood next to the ATM with the original card, and the machine whether it was tempered with, how was I suppose to know that. Does banking with standard bank mean their ATMs are "wwithdraw at your own risk" 4. As a standard bank user, does his mean I'm banking with them at my own risk, I mean I went to with innocently at an ATM, was bit ****** or held at gun point, machine just went dead and next thing somewhere else transactions are happening with a dummy card that I have not authorized. 5. Standard bank doesnt care about its clients, since this whole incident I haven't received a single call, nothing. I've been the one constantly calling. In my traumatic state, I've had to get the courage to go to branches and do investigations to check if I can video footages and so on of the day of the incident.
I worked really hard for that money, I cannot just lose money just like that. Standard bank is suppose to protect me and not work again. Please help Case number *** Thanks

Please note that I'm still waiting for my case. It's already 2 weeks now this thing has happened. It was escalated to ***** management for review, I've submitted all the proof I have for that day. To date I'm still waiting. This just shows that I've been banking with standard bank at my own risk. I'm now making payment arrangements for debts I couldn't pay for this month. Please assist, what is happening with me is not fair at all. All my hard earned money just taken away like that. Not even at gun point, but through your accessible system.
