***** at Standard Bank is rife as they process *****ulent transactions even after they were informed and accounts frozen
Standard Bank processed a *****ulent purchase even after going into their branch and alerting them of the transaction and asking them to freeze the account and cancel it. On the 26 June 2023, my sister in law received a notification that a purchase of R19 998.00 was declined due to insufficient funds on her Stadard Bank credit card account. The notification SMS also showed that an amount of R29 499.00 had been approved few minutes earlier. On the sms, it showed UBER SA and http://hificorp.co as transaction references. She has never used the services of UBER SA or Hificorp before. She immediately went to Standard Bank branch in Louis Trichardt and was assured that the transactions were stopped and her cards were blocked. She was given a reference number *** and they also sent her a message confirming this. They told her that they would start with their investigations and it would take 6 days to conclude. They also said they were adding her contact to their whatsapp group with their investigators for updates on the case. During the course of the 6 days, they never contacted her or send any update on that whatsapp chat. When she called 6 days later, she was told investigations were still continuing. She then decided to check transaction history on her Standard Bank Application, to her suprise the R29 499.00 transaction which Standard Bank told her they had stopped was processed on 28 June 2023, 2 days after Standard Bank claimed the bank cards and account were frozen. How did this happen when the *****ulent transaction was cancelled and account and bank cards were frozen? Was this really a***** or Standard Bank employees are *****ing customer's monies? The million dollar question that Standard Bank needs to answer is to who is liable to repay this credit since it is their money in the first place? My sister in law did her part after realizing the ***** on her Standard Bank credit card, she notified them and asked them to block the *****ulent transaction but they allowed the transaction to go ahead. I have since advised her to open a ******** case aginst Standard Bank and involve a lawyer, R29 499.00 is a lot of money that Standard Bank expect her to repay when she did not use it in the first place. I also adviced her to cancel all Standard Bank accounts and move to another bank.
