Astronomical Fees

I was looking on the web to find the cash deposit fees at an ATM vs a Branch to see what the difference is. Standard bank's fees for 2024 for an elite account shows R2,40 per R100 at an ATM and R80+R3 at a branch for every R100 or part thereof. I immediately assumed its an error, since if I put R100 into my account at a branch only R17 will go into my account and R83 is fees. thinking this is an error I phoned the call centre and was told by 2 different people its correct. THIS IS COUGING !!! Absa charges R2,50 at ATM and R4-00 per R100 at Branch, Nedbank charges 5 free deposits per month at ATM then R5,83 per R100 and at the Branch R12,40 per R100 with a R17 minimum. AND wait that's not the end of it Deposit R100 in coins from your shop at the branch and the fee goes up to R95 per R100. Pretty sure if correct these charges are in contravention with the bank act and other acts that protect consumers.
