Appalling service

In March 2020 I commenced taking over the administrative responsibility for a small-ish local company from an established management company. Most things went well until it came to organising my accessibility of the company’s Standard Bank account. To set the background, note that the management company is based in Sandton, the Standard Bank branch is in Woodmead, the company owner lives in Limpopo and I live in Mpumalanga. Other than SB, I will not be quoting any of the names in this article. For a number of months the existing agents attempted to have me added as an account signatory but to no avail. There was persistent follow up by them with the branch but nothing happened. After almost SIX MONTHS, the agents arranged with SB that I should visit my nearest SB branch – a round trip of 110km – where I needed to sign documents, produce FICA documents, before which I needed to arrange for the owner to sign the authorisation form and return it to me by email. The branch visit took place on 17 September. It was then found by SB that although there was authorisation for a daily transaction limit, there was no authorisation for a monthly one. Again, a delay whilst an appropriate letter was written, emailed to owner for signature, returned to me then emailed to SB. Lo and behold ! Another delay now because SB now stated they had no mandate to accept emailed documentation from the owner. This required yet another letter, together with SB form ***9 (page 5), to be sent by email to the owner, returned to me and then sent on to SB. This happened on 17th October. At 12.01 on 22 October I received an SMS advising the monthly limit had been sent. All seemed well until I needed to set up beneficiaries. There is a problem with the beneficiary account numbers I enter so I sent email to IBS Support on 26th October at 12.08 for assistance. No response ! Follow up 29th at 08.53. No response ! Further email at 09.43 with more details. No response ! As at 08.34 29th October, still nothing.
