Appalling Service

I first contacted Standard Bank Insurance on the 10th March to notify them that I had mistakenly paying my house insurance twice for the past 9 years. When I spoke to them they informed me that I could get a refund of 50% from them for the past three years, and the same from the other insurers who had also insured my house over the same time period (Santam and M&F). I was asked by Standard Bank Insurance whether I would like to keep their policy going or M&F (the other current one). I opted for the latter as this was cheaper. Standard Bank then offered me a discount of 10% to stay - which I declined. If they were prepared to offer me a discount then, why had they not offered this before? Obviously this was red rag to a bull as, despite receiving their assurance that I would now be refunded via email in early April, they are now not answering a single email or phone call. I have spoken to my personal banker numerous times to get a response, and she has filed complaints and sent me the ticket numbers, and still they do not make contact. Not only am I still paying my house insurance twice, I also need a statement of the sum insured and monthly premiums paid from Standard Bank Insurance to be able to get my refund from M&F and Santam - this they have not supp**** - so I am stuck. I have been banking with Standard Bank since 1993, I am a platinum card holder, I have all my businesses and my family members with Standard Bank, I have my bond there - and yet I am treated like dirt. I would have thought they would have wanted professionals such as me (I am a Chartered Accountant) as core clients of the bank, and yet when it comes time to pay back a relatively small refund I am treated like dirt. Once I get my refund, I am seriously considering switching to FNB
