An hour to collect a new card?

My cheque card came up for renewal. Unlike previously where I was contacted to find out to which branch I would like the card to be delivered, the card was automatically just sent to the last branch where I collected the card. I received an SMS to say the card was there and ready for collection. Instead of having an information desk where these cards used to be collected at your Blue Route mall branch, the new branch requires everyone to join the same line regardless of what they are there for. After more than 40 minutes of waiting, I was not assisted by one of the normal assistants but the the person manning the front desk telling customers where to join the one and only line. It then took the them almost 20 minutes to issue and activate the new card. This was a basic new card to replace the other one expiring...other bank deliver this to your door and one can activate it themselves through online channels. Finally after a whole hour I was able to leave with the new card. This is absolutely ridiculous. Thank heavens that I will only need to dedicate an hour every 5 years for this...oh wait, I have a second card...FML when that one comes up for renewal.

Hi Standard Bank,

Please could you get someone other than Thabisile Nxumalo to reply to my emails as they are just digging a bigger hole with their responses and failure to address my questions.

In actual fact I am now more irritated by their response than I was the original matter telling me that "This means that as the card holder you have a right to call us, in time and let us know that the card is about to expire...". WTAF?
