AMOUNTS TO THEFT
I accidentally paid some money into a redundant Standard Bank account, using the pay beneficiary tool on internet banking. The money was transferred from my Standard Bank account into the redundant one. I reported this to Standard Bank, and asked for my money back. They want to charge me R290 for this service and issue a no guarantee clause.<br> I am furious. Standard Bank should not accept payment into a redundant account, and there should be a default error message if this happens. I want my R150 back without having to pay R290 to get it. To me this amounts to ***** / theft on the part of the bank.
