Account handed over without a single call

I settled my overdraft account on the 31st of October 2016 after my account was handed over, I paid a settlement fee of R5 450 and I still have proof of payment. I never received any form of communication confirming that my account was up to date.

4 months down the line I receved a call on the 13th of February 2017 from attorneys collecting for standard bank. I asked the gentlemen(Bonginkosi) few questions and 1 was , why was i never contacted when i fell into arrears and only when I am handed over, bear in mind this is a dormant account and I stopped using it more than a year ago.

I asked him to call me back after he refused to send me an email so that I can also have my evidence, he told me they don't have emails nor can send me an SMS.

He asked if I still have my proof of payment and I told him I do have it and he must call me back on my other number so that I record him since he could not answer my questions.

It has been 10 days and I am still waiting for his call and standard bank will continue charging me as for what, I don't know. My credit rating is at stake here.
