Account frozen without warning

I received an sms on the 24th of February 2020 at 19:30 in the evening, stating that my account does not meet FIS requirements anymore. I had to report to a branch with my ID and proof of address to have my account reactivated. By the morning I was locked out of all my accounts and unable to use internet banking.

Never before that day was I notified that my account may be frozen if I do not provide the necessary documentation. How can you freeze someone's life line with no warning?!?! What would've happened if I wasn't in the country to go to a branch?

I reported the incident to Standard Bank and to this day all I have received was a general message stating they received my email.....
