A Bad Day at the Bank
Today I made a payment using online banking. A short while later I logged in again to make sure it was done and it was fine. Later I tried to login again. After three failures my account was blocked and I was told to visit my branch. At the branch there was a social distance queue. The last person in the queue kindly offered me her place in the line. A bank person controlled the queue and sprayed my hands. I told her I was nearly 92 years old and there was a provision for the elderly to have a preference. She played dumb and moved on. The person in front of me kindly offered his place in the queue and as there had been an incident at the front. I declined and thanked him. We chatted and I noticed his face mask was below his nose and asked him to cover it as he had moved closer to me. He said it was "too hot" and made a up/down gesture leaving the nose uncovered. I tried to move away but not possible. Eventually I got into the bank and played musical chairs for 45 minutes. Finally I was attended too by a very efficient person and my problem was solved in fifteen minutes. (I asked for his name - "****". Oh I said "****" - he said yes.) I headed for the exit, a revolving door. The spray person did a squirt at my hands and I said now the much handled door has not been cleaned. He said just use your elbow to get out. So:- The bank login much used, was a failure after two successful ones that day. I had to drive to a public area and queue with unprotected people. There was no provision for nonagenarians at any time. A much handled unsensitized revolving door was the only option for in/out. The staff made no attempt to make sure we all wore masks, correctly.
