7 Months Later — Still No Resolution to My Revolving Credit Plan Debit Order Issue
Dear Standard Bank Complaints Team,
I am once again forced to escalate my ongoing complaint regarding the unresolved debit order issue on my Revolving Credit Plan — now outstanding for over seven months despite countless emails, calls, and “escalations.”
📌 Background: This issue was first reported on 17 May 2025, when my debit order failed to run. I was told it had been “reloaded,” but since then I’ve had to make manual payments every month to avoid credit record damage.
On 11 June 2025, I received written confirmation that my debit order would be processed from my ABSA account (after closing my Prestige account). Yet, every month since — June, July, August, September, and now October — the debit order still hasn’t run.
📌 Current Correspondence: I’ve been dealing with Mr. Gorden Bila, who requested my bank statement to amend the debit order details, even though I already submitted a stamped bank confirmation letter (originally sent on 21 August 2025) — which clearly verifies my account ownership and banking details.
I’ve re-sent this document multiple times, and have now sent three follow-up emails (8, 9, and 10 October 2025) with no reply or resolution.
📌 My Concerns:
I fail to understand why a full bank statement (showing private transactions) is required when a bank confirmation letter meets all verification standards.
The complaint has been repeatedly moved between departments, with zero accountability.
I have received no feedback or confirmation that my debit order will be corrected.
I continue to make manual payments under duress to protect my credit record.
📌 Requested Action:
Immediate correction of my debit order to the ABSA account provided.
Written assurance that my credit profile remains unaffected.
Written confirmation of the correct debit order date for future payments.
A formal explanation as to why this has taken over 7 months without resolution.
If this matter is still not resolved by Friday, 11 October 2025, I will escalate it to the Banking Ombudsman, including all supporting emails, payment records, and complaint references (**Ref **********4 and ********7).
This ongoing delay and lack of accountability are completely unacceptable.
