6 days to clear an EFT Transfer from STD Bank to FNB

An amount of R1,250 was transferred via EFT on Friday 4th of Jan 2019 at 13:28. Today is Thursday 10th of Jan 2019 at 08:30--thus funds still do not reflect in my FNB cheque account. I had to contact STD twice with the reference number received on 04/01/2019 as proof of the payment just to be told it takes 3 - 5 working days (today is day 6 in total) for funds to reflect. All has been cleared and the funds should reflect by close of business today.

Same transfer was done from a FNB cheque account to a Capitec account yesterday, EFT was done at 12:00 and funds reflected in Capitec account after 15:00 same day?

How come it is possible for FNB, Capitec, Nedbank and ABSA to do this tranfer in 24hrs but it takes STD bank 3 - 5 working days, or 7 days in total? Who earns the interest in this period.

Extremely poor banking practice from STD bank's side. May I never have the need for a bank account with your institution.
