4 weeks to respond
I sent SBIB a notice of my intention to move my householders insurance to another company on the 7th May with effect from the 1st of June. Attached to that was a copy of my new policy which more than covered the municipal valuation and more than twice my bond amount. Today, the 4th of June, 4 weeks later, I receive a notice that I have to cover the house for almost twice it's value and have to fax all sorts of documents to them which I have already emailed. The net result of their lack of urgency (interest, concern, accountability etc.) is that I have now paid 2 insurance premiums and am quite disappointed in what was once a very good bank.
