3D Gateway Timeout when trying to use my credit card online

For the past 2 weeks the 3D Payment Gateway has been problematic. Last week it was down for 3 days, before suddenly working again. The same thing this weekend. It means that I cannot use my credit card to buy anything online - it times out with a gateway error before it can authenticate my card!!!!!!
