30 years of customer loyalty down the tube

I am so disappointed with Standard Bank. After banking with Standard bank since I was a kid and throughout my adult life you'd think that being a valued customer for that long you'd try to keep my business. <br> After applying for a bond extension, your customer service consultant informed me that my new bond rate is 0.2% over prime - from a rate that was less than prime. I am not a higher risk suddenly. I have a brilliant credit rating and am only asking for a R100 000 extension on a bond of R675 000 on a house they you have valued at R1,2mil. When asked whether she could appeal this I received an outright no this was only possible if I renegotiate the whole bond. I asked to do this, but was told this wasn't possible. When I said I was considering moving banks I received a blank stare. All she had to do was say I'll see what I can do, instead a got rigid 'no can do' attitude. Thirty years of being a loyal customer down the tube in one twenty minute interaction. I walk into you competition next door and immediately received a helpful, 'let's see how we can help you'. Is this really the best Standard bank can do or should I still move banks? So disappointed!
