TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE - No consideration for students

Absolutely regret my decision to study through this university. As a student body studying PGCE with Distance Learning, we have tried to voice our concerns with no response or action taken by the university.

Myself and a large group of students are having absolute mental and emotional break downs over the totally unreasonable and inhumane expectations places on us for the Education studies venue based exam. We are told to learn 21 weeks worth of work for this year module, a summary for this comes to over 400 pages. We are told that STADIO does not offer exam scopes, however I have been in contact with Stadio students studying other courses who have received lovely exam scopes and guidelines. Being told to study EVERYTHING is NOT HELPING ANYONE.

I would under no circumstances recommend that anyone study through this university. I’ve mentioned only one of the unreasonable expectations placed on us as PGCE students, not even mentioning the inundation of assignments from all modules WHILE DOING TEACHING PRACTICE as well as working full time, and in my case - a mother of 3 children as well. The university has put no thought into what the reasonable expectation would be for distance learning students.

Unisa may be difficult to work with but I would 100% prefer to study through them because they actually care about their students and put reasonable expectations in place.
