PGCE experience
If you want to save yourself loads of frustration, do not enrol for the STADIO PGCE course, especially if you need to take an African language. Some of the lecturers are fantastic but the whole experience is more frustrating than anything else. I am currently enrolled in the PGCE program (July 2022). Xhosa module: To date (ie in 10 months) we have had 4 lectures. 2 Assignments have been graded by October 2022 and then nothing. Without any announcement from Stadio, the lecturer disappeared. We tried to contact the help desk (which by the way takes up to 7 days to answer emails). Eventually in April 2023 we had the first response (promise) from the head of the department. It is now May, and still nothing has been posted on the online study platform. A lecture was scheduled for the 23rd of May and no lecturer showed up!!!

We have written emails to the head of African languages and Leanne Browning. The only person higher up is Chris Vorster himself. I would really not mind a meeting with him. It seems the only time Stadio reacts is when there are complaints on Hello Peter or Facebook.
