Should you wish to study the PGCE program part time (18 month program)at this institution I would advise you to run far far away. We have experienced the following : 1.This is a part time course which would mean there should be a mutual understanding that most of us are working jobs to fund our studies.WE HAVE NO TIME to email Head of Departments to find out where our mysterious Xhosa lecturer has disappeared to.To follow up when we will have a lecture.for someone to CARE enough that they communicate with us in a professional and timely manner. 2.ZERO empathy in understanding that this has FINANCIAL implications for all of us.We have paid to be educated by a qualified Xhosa lecturer in order to equip us to be the future of South African teachers in a culturally diverse nation. 3.The lack of empathy and severe apathy from various contact points as to the severity of how incredibly unprofessional and shocking this behaviour is.
