Embury policies on study material

I am a full paid up student at Embury for my degree in education. My study fees are paid in full every starting of the year. Last year I paid for course readers on modules, unfortunately I failed 2 of these modules, that means I have to repeat these modules again. So you as a student will pay the whole amount per module in full again and the worst part is, you are force to buy the same course readers again. You cannot use the ones you have already paid for the previous year, they haven't change the course or the reader. So as a student you are not only paying again for the same module in full again but you have to buy all the books again. If you don't they refused to sent you your new study guides, that you paid for and you cannot order and paid for your new course readers. This is a very nice way of take blood out of a rock.

I have studied for years at Unisa and I have failed a module or two that I had to repeat. I always received my study material in time, I was offered the choice of downloading my course readers or your could buy the book and we only paid half of our repeated modules fees. You also had to registered separately for repeats. The never ever kept any study material unless your fees wasn't paid in full, they never forces you to purchases study course readers or prescribe books.

I believe that buying a course reader or prescribe book are up to a student. You cannot withheld study material or all new course readers from a fully paid up student. University don't force their students to buy any books from them. You lend borrow share underneath students, you can also resell your old books if you want to. Embury forbids any of the above.

I have proof that my new study material is withheld from me, due to the fact that I refused to pay for a repeat Modules course readers. I still have my course readers from last semester. I have paid for it in full. Due to the copyright act as they call it, I cannot order my new course readers or received my study material. So use Unisa and every other university in South Africa a different copyright act because they don't force any of their students to buy course readers before they can received their official study material. My studies fees for last year was R32 000 and this year I have paid in full R36 000. Lot of money to paid for half of the services render!
