Awful overall experience - Would not recommend
Unfortunately this review is neccessary to prevent the occurance of future dissapointment
I am a final-year student at this institution and have been constantly dissapointed in the past four years of studies. On arrival at Stadio I was 'forgotten' off the enrolment list and subsequently had to wait over a month after the course had started to be enrolled. This was stressful as there was a back-log of work waiting for me when I was finally enrolled. I had paid upfront, so this should not have been an issue.
Thereafter, the standard of care recieved continued to decrease exponentially. Some of the lecturers were completely ***********, changing test dates at the last minute and not releasing marks for up to three months, resulting in students being unable to review their work and use it as a basis on which to produce better work. Furthermore, online students were often disregarded, resulting in much frustration as the standard of care varied significantly between distance and contact learners. It was almost as if distance learners were less valuable than contact learners. I was denied access to my final results last year as the result of yet another 'slip up' when Stadio claimed that I had not paid my fees, which was not the case, it had just been incorrectly captured. I had to wait for the results to be unlocked, which was more than frustrating.
We recently wrote our first set of examinations after the Covid protocol ended, which yielded further dissapointment as the staff involved in the examination process failed to execute the examinations in any sort of professional manner.
Students were left writing their fourth year paper outside in the garden, in a storeroom with makeshift desks, or in the main halls, of which there ended up being three, as opposed to one. The set starting times of the exams varied as well, which is super unprofessional and unfair on the students who worked very hard for the exam. It was apparent on the morning of the exam that the number of students writing had not been taken into account whatsoever. There were only 48 seats, which resulted in half the students being relocated (on the morning of the exam) to another venue, which was also completely unprepared for the remaining number of students. There were not enough exam papers available and some students had to share desks and exam papers! The exam was also not always supervised as there were no Stadio representatives available on the day and the invigilators had not been briefed at all. Students were able to talk while the invigilators were not present. Furthermore, there were other extremely unprofessional exam practices taking place such as notes being allowed into the venue, cellphones allowed on the students and unchecked student ID's on the day of the exam.
These conditions were grounds for the occurance of severe unfairness regarding the exam. Stadio is insiting we write another exam in-hall, which I personally think to be a waste of our time. I am fairly shocked at the lack of professionalism showed by this institution, especiall considering that the fees are astronomical due to the fact that it is considered a private institution.
Sadly, the education at this institution is really excellent and the content is thorough and well-researched. They have a great degree available, but cannot execute it. Some of the lecturers are also ablsolutely brilliant! It's quite sad that the entire institution is compromised by new management as the original Embury institution had no such problems and ran well.
Unfortunately, I would not recommend this business to any student and will be relocating to another university to do my honours. Very dissapointed as I did not pay private university fees just to go to a public university.
This business is capable of so much more.
