My name is Nthabiseng I’m a consistent loyal customer to MTN making sure that my billings are up to date and all but after so many years of using MTN, trusting it to be my service provider I have never been so disappointed. In September 2015 I upgraded to a Samsung Galaxy Note 4, however I never had joy using the gadget because in a matter of weeks’ time it gave me problems on the third week of September it decimally failed me the screen started showing as negative and at that moment in time I was not around Joburg I was in Cape Town so I searched for the nearest MTN or Samsung store to get a technical opinion I managed to get a Samsung store and they advised that the problem could be a software crash I need to book it in but since well I do not reside in the Cape I should wait until I get to Joburg and take it to the Samsung repair centre. I went to SSS booked the phone in and they said they have to replace the screen, they did so the phone came back with a lifting screen. My phone has been going back to SSS every month since I got the phone and it has been booked in more than 6 times in 4 month. The sixth time I booked it in of which I made it clear it was going to be the last time I do that as I have been so lenient. They said they will replace the casing this time around the phone should be fine, they did that I went and got my phone back it still did the same thing and to my surprise it is no longer just the lifting screen any more even the speaker is damaged now, when you on a call there’s irritating sounds coming then the call just gets cut off or you make a call and you cannot hear the next person on the line, when you open up an application it closes on its own imagine sending an email then it does that, it is really inconveniencing . I then took the phone back to MTN where I initially got it from and the only thing the consultant could tell me is that there is nothing MTN can do for me I need to go to Samsung.

I am really tired of this phone it is making me overspend and now I seem like a fool doing the same routine every month that I will go get the phone and find it not fixed to my satisfaction then book it in again I’m doing all of this on my expense, I pay my monthly instalment for a phone I hardly use, by the time my phone is booked it I’m sure I am losing important calls as I do not have any other alternative phone to use, all the traveling is expensive and emotionally I am drained when we sign up for contracts service providers are so helpful but when problems arises no one is taking initiative I feel my rights as a customer have been violated its either MTN makes it a point I get a new device or they just cancel my contract there’s other service providers who will be more than willing to get business from me. I also wouldn’t mind jumping ship probably it is about time.

Its 2017 now the phone is still not fixed because I’m being told to go from one place to another, this phone was booked in for repairs several times and 4 times the screen was changed already. But however it still gives the same problem. On the 12th of January 2016 I went to SSS in Boksburg taking it back in and they told me there is nothing they can do I should have brought it back in within 3 months of the last repair and now that there is a chip on the screen the warranty won’t cover it! After a technician checked it they told me the frame is slightly bent I do not understand WHY AND HOW IS THAT ANY OF MY PROBLEM, they should have noticed that from the first installation but no, I had to come back every now and then complaining about the same thing. first of all had the phone got a quick fix from the onset I would have had a screen protector and it wouldn’t have cracked, now how do I stay with a phone like that but I pay it every single month and I know I have two years warranty on?

Can someone account to this, I’m running around with this phone and I am not being assisted anyhow.
