Won a Competion only to be turned away and investi
I won a competition in my community newspaper where I received a R100 gift voucher from Spur, a lady called me from match creative congratulating me on my prize, she asked for my postal address but since I was in the process of moving I wasnt sure where I would be when the post arrived so I asked her if she could email me instead and if I could use the emailed copy, she assured me that was okay and proceeded to email me the voucher. I printed the voucher and went to my local Spur in canal walk where a Mr Kooperman told me in no uncertain terms that i may NOT use the copy voucher and he needed the actual blue voucher, despite being told this was okay, I then contacted head office and a lad by the name of Joshua has since called me around 4 or 5 times to ask who I spoke to, to forward him the email I received etc, i am starting to feel like a common ******** to be honest. really dont know what to make of this?
Thank you for taking the time to share your unhappiness with us. We understand that this matter had been addressed with the store already. We understand your frustration but stores do not accept copies or electronic copies of a voucher, you need to be in possession of the original. This is not only to prevent ***** but also to ensure that multiple people are not using the same voucher. We have confirmation from a lady called Liza-Jane who advised that she posted your voucher to the updated (new) address that you provided her with. Since this was not a competition initiated by Spur but rather a third party, you will need to follow and query with relevant person from the newspaper.
We do apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused this far.
Kind regards
