Very bad experience at Bergvliet Spur

I wanted to treat some friends to lunch on Sunday May 20, and thought Spur was a good option. We went to the Bergvliet one on Ladies Mile Road. Table of 9. I got there a bit behind them and immediately was hit with a stuffy smell like there was no ventilation. The place was dirty and sticky. The waiter moved us to a bigger table, and then seemed to be upset when another waiter took over and the disagreement was noticeable and affected the service. Later I saw ****roaches. I just kept quiet about all of this because this was an unusual 'treat' for some of my guests and I didn't want to spoil it. The smell, the level of filth, uncomfortable stuffiness, and bad service were completely unacceptable. I am relieved non of us got sick. I think Spur have taken their established position for granted and allowed standards to slide. I wish I had taken them to McDonalds. Bill came to R1,050.00.
