SPUR PLAYGROUNDS DANGEROUS FOR CHILDREN

My granddaughter broke her arm at Lone Wolf Spur after she fell from one of the slides on the playground of Lone Wolf Spur. Safety of children at these playgrounds is a serious concern. Companies in SA need to comply with the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act which calls for a risk assessment to be conducted for the entire business. The main purpose of such assessment or risk analysis is to ensure the health and safety of employees, contractors and visitors on their premises. Secondly, controls must be implemented to prevent accidents from happening. Several attempts to see a copy of the risk assessment were unsuccessful. Assistance from staff at Lone Wolf Spur after this accident occurred was non-existent. Not only are legal requirements not met at Spur but, the safety of clients is not a priority. The mind-set of Spur management is that, we do not worry as we have public liability insurance in place.
