Spur - Look at your bill they are misleading.
My husband and I had dinner at Spur in Atterbury Value mart on the 25.02.2015. They proudly advertise their Wednesday specials - A Cheddamelt steak for only R74.90 INCLUDING VAT. When we got our bill, they calculate the total and then afterwards include VAT - so in other words all the prices on the menu is EXCLUDING VAT. This is shocking, a major restaurant like Spur misleading all their consumers - don't they know anything about the Consumer protection act?<br> <br> I am very disappointed in this brand in general, and I do feel it's my duty to report this to all consumers out there! Thank you for taking the time to share your disappointment with us and we do apologise that you feel that you have been misled. The price advertised on our menu is VAT incl. It can seem confusing on the bill as the VAT is then separated from the cost of the meal, thus showing the customer what the actual cost of the VAT is. so because it's separated on the bill it can come across as misconceiving, however this method is just to stipulate cost before and after VAT. The total on your bill should still amount to R74.90 per cheddamelt meal.
Again we do apologise that you felt mislead we can assure you this is not the intention and we trust that the explanation of the bill has cleared up any confusion.
