Spur Florida Road, Durban is really not recommendef

We went to Spur Florida Road, Durban on Wed 8 March at 11am. Not good. 1. No-one to greet at door as is usual for Spurs 2. Found our own seats (didn't mind) 3. No greeting or smile from waiter who gave us the menu 4. However, she disappeared before we could tell her we didn't want breakfast menu 5. I saw another waiter and asked him for correct menus which he happily brought to us (finally a smile!). Five of us, 2 menus despite there being very few customers. 6. After about 10, maybe more, minutes a waiter came to ask about beverages. All good except one ordered cuppoccino without cream, the other with just froth... both came with cream (she did offer to change but we decided just to just leave as is). 7. Placed our order for food. I found their food to be on the expensive side. 8. Food and comments from each person. By the way one comment from everyone...their chips are NOT good a) fillet: for the price nothing special; would definitely never order again b) fish and chips: couldn't decided if slightly undercooked or not. I think not, but just having to think, is it or isn't it.... c) burger: absolutely delicious d) pork spare ribs: delicious e) rump: three quarters just sinew. I tried hard to eat but it it was absolutely ghastly plus absolutely no flavour. Despite restaurant still being extremely quiet, no waiter approached our table until we were ¾, or more, through eating to ask if we happy with the food...I told her. Her response "that's good". It took all of us, about 4 ot 5 attempts, before she realized I was telling her the rump was not acceptable."I'll fetch the manager" she said. I think it was about 7, maybe 10, minutes later that manager arrived. Sullen. No smile. No greeting...just asked what the problem was. When I told her she said she'd arrange for another. I accepted, i wasn't going to refuse for the simple reason the first one was so so bad abd their food is expensive in my view. Everyone had finished eating by time new rump arrived...I asked the waiter just to put in doggy bag please. She was shocked. I wonder if she thought I was just trying to get a freebee, despite the evidence of the sinewy steak on my plate. Plus was the rest of the party supposed to just sit and watch me eat? Paid and left. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant, apart from the food, just the lack of atmosphere, lack of friendliness..the whole overall vibe, not good. Also should mention...hot hot hot...we were sweating. Sat inside because of my 93 year old mom, but I am sure there was no aircon.
