Spur at Grey Owl

Went into the Spur at the Grey Owl Centre in Centurion on Saturday afternoon and ordered a steak. The waitress politely asked if I would like it on a hot steel plate and I confirmed this but clearly stated that the plate must be warm and not hot, as previous experience has shown that the fat splatters everywhere and the steak continues cooking. When the meal arrived, the plate was so hot it couldn't be touched. As expected, the fat splattered all over my shirt. I asked for a ceramic plate and had to transfer the food. What is the point of asking for something simple when it is not going to be adhered to? And the cost of my shirt?
