Ridiculed and humiliated by a Spur Reno manager for not wanting to place an order.

Extremely hurt and disappointed that I was ridiculed and disrespected by the manager and stuff in front of other customers for not wanting to place an order. I was told that I won’t leave unless I buy something or else they will call the police. I told I am a foreigner who doesn’t know South African rules. Mind you I’m South African.

I told them that I was there for a business meeting and didn’t have an appetite to eat but I was told that I must pay for a glass of water that is normally for free. They said I used their premises and their Wi-fi that’s what I need to pay for.

As a citizen protected by consumer law this came as a shock that I am being blocked at the door forced to buy something.

I was made to feel like a ******** simply because I didn’t want to order food at Spur. I have never felt so disrespected and humiliated and being threatened that they will call the police simply because I didn’t want to order food at Spur Reno Bellville. All 3 Spur staff members disregarded their roles toward me and violated me and my right of dignity in a public sitting with customers all around.
