No suitable access for disabled person, the elderly and families with prams

I live in Grahamstown and have a huge problem with the Spur restaurant here. They have moved premises into a renovated new site which is upstairs and there is no suitable access for disabled, elderly or prams. They opened in July and despite repeated attempts to get someone to look at the problem I have failed. I have contacted the franchise owner, customer care line, head office complaints site, via emails and phone calls. All answer and say they'll get back to me – but nothing happens. A tradesmans entrance at the back of the Spur has been cleaned up and they seem to think that is acceptable!!! It certainly does not comply with National Building Bylaw regulations for gradient. A person in a wheelchair would not be able to push themselves up and someone helping to push would really battle. I have also heard that it is not easy to walk up.

It is appalling that this restaurant was allowed to open it's doors with no thought of how disabled persons and the elderly were to gain access.
