Miami Spur Umhlanga....you DISGUST me!!!!!
I am absolutely DISGUSTED at the service we have just received from Miami Spur. And this not the service from our waitress but by the childminding.
We specifically went to this SPUR because there is nice big play area. My sister has a very busy little girl and we wanted to go out for lunch as a family whereby she could sit and relax and my niece could have some fun.
We arrived and the childminder assured my sister she would keep an eye on her daughter. However as any good mother would do my sister kept looking to see and be assured that she was ok. After we had ordered our food my sister noticed she could not see her daughter.
She went looking and was horrified to find that she had ran outside the restaurant and nobody had even tried to stop her. Imagine that feeling knowing your child could have been taken or gotten even more lost.
My sister spoke to the staff asking how can they let this happen. They apologised. But an apology does not take the anxiety that my sister now felt away. My sister completely broke down that feeling of not knowing where your child is and then knowing it's OK... you have her in your arms, brings about floods of emotions. Needless to say her daughter did not go back to the play area.
At this stage there had been no involvement at all from a Manager. I was disgusted feeling totally distraught for my sister and thinking of all the awful things that could have happened to my niece. I got up calmly from the table to go and ask where the manager was. A waitress pointed out a woman by the name of Slindile. I asked her to step aside I remained calm and I preceded to ask her if she knew what had just happened in the restaurant that she was supposed to be managing. She did not seem to be too concerned and just said she had heard about a child running out. I told her the full story and I said she needs to think about how she will ensure this never happens again and to make sure that the staff guilty of letting this happen are reprimanded. She told me she would speak to her staff. Which I think she did.
She NEVER came over to talk to my sister and apologise. She soon brushed it off and we did not see her again. The bill came and we paid in full for our food and drinks.
As we left I went to Slindile the "so called manager" and I asked for her to write down her name. I then said to her that I was again DISGUSTED at the fact that she not once came to check in and see how my sister was. To apologise for her staffs shortcomings. To at least tell us what she would do going forwards to ensure this never happens again. I told her, as a manager, you should make sure that a customer is reassured that you are doing or have done all you can to rectify the situation. Her attitude was apathetic! Needless to say we will NEVER go there again. It's sad that none of the Spur staff at any time really acknowledged the seriousness of what had happened. The Spur brand is supposed to pride itself with the family environment it offers. Sadly this branch brings down the entire brand in my opinion!!!
