Irritated
I planned to have my daughters 1st birthday well in advance at Spur Alamo in Tygervalley Mall. I had called twice, once to make the booking and the second time was to confirm the booking. When calling the second time they could not find the booking and i had to make another. This should have been a red flag for me. So we arrive 10min before the party should start and on arrival nothing has been set up and no-one knows anything about the party. For a good 30min my guests had to stand around and wait as the staff were trying to move people from their seats to make space for us close to the play area (as this is a kids party).
They moved us to a real awkward spot. Even though we were close to the play area. We werr knocking into waiters passing our tables and it was just horrible. Never mind that my guests had to be seated scattered around the restaurant. The staff of Alamo Spur was very unprofessional they only appointed one waiter for all my guests which meant that orders were taking long and orders were not being completed. I had ordered pumpkin and spinach for the two babies and it only came close to the end of the party after I had to remind the waiter of the order.
When the party was coming to an end our spur party boxes were not ready. I asked one of the Managers where the boxes were as I had asked the waiter about 10 min ago to get it. He tells me that they still need to fold the boxes and fill them. After a two hour party they only decide to fold boxes at the end?????? UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!
Spur is known for their kids parties. This is not the first party at Spur I had for my kids. My eldest daughters 1st birthday was also at Silver Spur in Durban Road and that was fantastic. Service was great so I expected nothing less. BUT I got *******! And this has nothing to do with the fact that it was month end.
I would not host another party at Spur Alamo.
