In recognition of good service

Topeka Spur, Kenilworth Centre, Cape Town Visited this Spur yesterday, 30 Oct 2019. This was my wife’s first visit to the Spur restaurant in 20 years. My daughter and I ordered the 200g Sirloin served on a hot plate and were completely happy with our meal. My wife ordered the 200g Sirloin Cheddamelt steak and was not happy to discover the steak contained more then 50% fat. Her meal was served with hot veggies (butternut, sweet potato and creamed spinach) and a mushroom sauce. Apart from the excessive fat she found something in her sauce that appeared to be a human hair. The manager was called and he determined that it was in fact some sort of mushroom fibre which they apparently see frequently - heck, it may even have been some part of the mushroom’s packaging. Either way, the manager arranged for my wife’s entire meal to be replaced at no extra charge. All the while the waitress remained cool and respectful with a smile on her face. Betty was so apologetic and understanding. She made no hesitation at my request to see the manager. The manager came immediately to attend to our complaint. He remained amicable and pleasant throughout. Lundi personally attended to the replacement meal. Thank you for your professional conduct Betty and Lundi. Well done Topeka Spur for your excellent choice in staff and management. 5 stars for your service. 4 stars overall because of the fatty steak.
