i could have died yet i wasn't taken seriously

In 2013 I lived and worked in Johannesburg which was away from home as I live in Durban. Which all went well untill the night my friend took me to spur for supper. He ordered steak and ribs and I had ordered the Monday burger special. I eat the first burger which was fine but the second burger could have been my first and last time I ever eat something again. I chewed on a huge glass piece which tasted like sand. I swallowed a small piece of glass whith the food as it cut me going down my throat. I was in serious pain and discomfort as I spat out blood and was rushed to the medical centre in Midrand and was treated. My friend and I made a formal complaint to the management who had taken responsibility for the glass piece which looked to be from a broken mug handle of the restaurant and said they will take full responsibility for any medical bills or loss of income. Due to all the pain and discomfort I left my job in jhb and came back down to Durban to be close to my family who regularly took me to Drs rooms and hospitals. I had engaged a lawyer who I had paid to open a file but decided to stop and go directly to spur head office to deal with them directly. I spoke to the supply chain manager who had taken my complaint in and we conversed over the years he had asked me for medical bills loss of income ect but I had to contact them all the time but was never taken seriously even up until now in 2018. Passing the buck onto the owners of that particular spur ect to sort out the settlement. So who can we trust as consumers with our kids or friends and family if our, health, lives and safety are taken for granted
