Horrible experience at Spur

Good day.

My family and I were traveling from Johannesburg to Cape Town and when we arrived in Beaufort West we decided to stop at Spur for breakfast before completing our journey.

Before placing any order, my son and husband went to the male toilets and I went to the females. This was at 10am in the morning. Upon me entering the female toilet cubicle, it had not been cleaned and I had to use paper to wipe the seat clean. Upon meeting with my husband and son at our table thereafter, he had said that theale toilets too were dirty and wanted to leave the restaurant because of this. I insisted that we stayed because we were already at Spur. Our table and seats were dirty and I had to ask the waiter to clean it, which in our minds should have been done before the menus were given.

We then placed our food and ordered coffee. The s****s that were brought to us were dirty/ used s****s with chocolate stuck on there. We again were very polite to tell the waiter that the s****s were dirty and to please get us clean s****s. To make matters worse, my husband's mug was dirty and I had ordered a cappuccino but to my dismay it was only a filter coffee with froth on top.

Patrons were let into the restaurant without masks and this caught our attention, cooks were cooking with masks on their chins, rather than covering their noses and mouths. This causes Health and Safety risks for any patron who is at the restaurant and staff working there.

Our experience was not pleasant at all. We will definitely not be back ever and it really was off-putting as Spur has been a franchise we have been for for over 30 years. This is extremely disappointing. We paid our bill and left very quickly thereafter.
