halaal or not?
at the junior argus on saturday the 5th March 2016 we bought spur burgers at the kiosk . spur was telling everyone that it was halaal. upon further investigation by some muslim spur owner he told the muslims not to eat eat it because he confirmed this was def not halaal...does spur just want to make money not caring about peoples beliefs and religion? this is unacceptable. they showed the poeple a halaal certificate that was three years old. which means this was not halaal last yr either and we have been supporting them all along!!!!!! hope this is defenitely taken up further.

On Saturday 5 March 2016, Spur Head Office was made aware of an unfortunate miscommunication at the Spur vending kiosk at the CT Junior Cycle Tour 2016.
We investigated the matter further and established that our outsourced vendor never informed her staff that she had changed suppliers, thereby making the new burger products non-Halaal. This is a highly regrettable oversight and as a brand we offer our heartfelt apologies to the Muslim community.
We take this incident very seriously and have placed the vendor on legal notice. Additionally, in future, where applicable, we will separate the entire Halaal product production and preparation offering at events thereby ensuring stringent adherence.
