FOOD POISONING

I had phoned in last week Sunday to speak to one of your managers who was on duty at the time of the incident and had spoken to Luca (hoping that is correct). He advised me to make the owner aware of the situation.

My family and I dined at Santa Ana Spur restaurant last week Friday- 16th October 2020 @ 20h30 to approximately 21h45 of which the food was served at 21h13)

My partner had ordered a cheesy prawn steak whilst myself and kids had spicy nachos, cheddarmelt steak and an extra kiddies meal (chicken nuggets and smileys); my son celebrated his birthday a few days ago.

My steak was done medium rare and my partners' medium-well done. The steak was done perfectly and the kids enjoyed their spicy nachos and kiddies meal.

It is important to note that my partner has a pre-existing condition of which we are currently trying to get under control with a few antibiotics and added treatment.

Friday evening, not long after we left your restaurant my partner noticed that her skin condition had flared on her feet; which was odd because we have been tracking the progress of her treatment and noticed everything seemed very well under control over the past couple of days. We passed this off as normal flare up and left it as is.

Saturday morning the flare up had gotten worse and seemed to have become so aggravated that the skin looked burnt. The day progressed and slowly a headache approached and became progressively worse during the course of the day. By the end of the day, we landed up with intense dizziness, excruciating stomach pains, nausea, temperature fluctuations and a terrible skin flare-up.

Throughout Saturday evening extreme fatigue set in and through to Sunday morning, constant vomiting and diarrhoea.

We are lucky that hospitalization was not needed and she's currently at home recovering. The headache persists, the skin flare-up we were able to ascertain that the new introduction of toxins in the body caused the aggravation of the pre-existing condition. Hopefully we can get that under control (as we are now having to look at perhaps increasing the treatment doses)

We've drawn the conclusion that the prawn was either not prepared properly or could have been spoiled (this was quite clear in the contents of whatever was expelled from the body) - on that note, please could I request that you reiterate the importance of proper cooking when it comes to seafood.

We're highly disappointed and frustrated as this was our first time at your branch, we enjoyed our meal but only to land up with such a nasty outcome and on top of that having to start from scratch dealing with the pre-existing condition.

I have emailed an exact copy of what has been explained here to the owner. A week later and I have not received any feedback or acknowledgement.

This is highly disappointing and frustrating that not even the manager had the decency to apologise but had given a mere "Thank you for bringing it to my attention"
