Double standards and discriminatory treatment
I have been going for breakfast every Sunday morning at Spur Heathway for the past 2 months. On Sunday 2nd April while eating breakfast 2 white couples (cyclists) walked in at 11:30am and asked for breakfast which they were told by the waiter that time is up. They demanded to speak to the manager, a white male manager came and said no problem they could order and be served. Now, this past Sunday 9th April, I walked in at 11:04am and asked to be served breakfast, and was refused by a black lady manager who politely explained to me that their egg frier gets switched off at exactly 11:00am. I did not contest this though I was very angry and disappointed that Spur Heathway has discriminatory practices in 2016!!! Disgusting!!!
Thank you for sharing with us your breakfast experience at Wild Falcon Spur with us. The national standard is that breakfast ends at 11:00 for the exact reason that the manager explained to you. The restaurant needs to start preparing for the lunch time trade and hence the cut off for breakfast is 11:00. We are not too sure why the cyclists were allowed to order breakfast at 11:30 (perhaps there was a previous arrangement made with the manager) but we will definitely investigate this and provide feedback shortly.
