Bad Service - Gordons Bay Spur - Sunset Bay Spur
It took 20min to be severed after having to go find someone to take our order.
Ordered 2 Cappuccino's and received two coffee's, I've order the Spur Cappuccino before and what was brought to us was clearly a plain coffee, but billed for a cappuccino.
Took 1 hour for our breakfast to arrive with no toast, then had to wait another 20min for our toast to arrive - in my mind - shouldn't the two get served together to the client?
Went to complain to one of the managers - all he could do is say sorry - saw about 5 of them - but each looked as out of depth and didn't have a clue what was happening in their restaurant.
When our toast eventually arrived I asked to have our bill, as I thought to myself, if our breakfast took this long, how long will it take to get our bill from one of our 3 servers????
Sat and waited for our bill --- still no bill after 25min.... went to the front of house and asked for the bill.
Then waited about another 15min to get the right bill.
Questions I have for Spur is the following:
1) Are the managers trained?
2) Are the servers trained?
3) How are the tables allocated to servers?
Thank you for sharing your frustrating visit to Sunset Bay Spur with us. To answer your questions, many times managers started off as waiters on the floor which gives them a good understanding of the ups and downs of being a waiter. They are provided with Management Training. The same applies to the waiters/servers.
Each waiter is allocated a certain amount of tables depending on their experience. For example a relatively new waiter would only serve a maximum of 2 tables whilst an experience waiter might have 5 or 6 tables depending on the size of the restaurant. Be that as it may, the length of time taken for your breakfasts and bill and most definitely incorrect coffee/cappuccino are not acceptable. We will address your complaint with the owner/operator who will be in touch shortly.
We apologise for any inconvenience and/or frustration caused - this is not what Spur is all about.
Kind regards
