Bad experience at Plattekloof Spur

My family decided they would love some ribs n chips for dinner last night (Thursday 13 June 2019) and I put some options on the table (The Fat Spanish in Durbanville, Spar Bothasig, Spur Plattekloof). They opted for Spur Plattekloof. Remembering all the ads on TV lately about the special of R99, it suited the budget as well. Off we went. The service was good up until the point where the ribs came. Tough as hell! The first thoughts were, but you're selling a promotion, surely you should make sure you get this right. The wife and I decided to do a split combo so that we could get the best of both worlds (Full portion chicken schnitzel and the ribs). I scoffed off the chips and one piece of schnitzel (which was fried so crispy that it was difficult to chew). Bare in mind that I have not eaten the whole day, it was cold outside and quite late already (7pm). Given this time of the year, cold, dark so it feels very late. The wife battled with her first small piece. Suffice to say we had to send it back and couldn't stay for a new piece as my daughter had to get to bed for school today. This meant that the wife and I left for home still hungry. Now we all know the price of things and what it cost to eat out. Quite frankly, we wasted our time and money. Most upset about this. My wife begged me not to make a big deal but I told her that I was the only one working and needed to make sure that when we spend some hard earned money, that we at least enjoy what we spend it on. With school holidays here, we'd have to think hard about where we eat the next time now!
