************** at SPUR

On the 14 June 2025 was my sons birthday , so we had a meal vouch for him at spur, he had a lovely fun filled day, so we decided to take him to the Spur in Alberton , Little Eagle Spur. The place was full , predominantly black , we were like the minority mixed race people in the restaurant. Birthdays were being celebrated all over the restaurant, so I though my son could get into the action of having experienced a SPUR birthday sing along, Despite me having to tell the waitress that its my sons birthday over 5 times and she must get someone to sing for him, the Manager also swung by to ask me if everything was ok, when my kids were at the play area, I also had asked him to send someone over to sing for my son. Imagine the look on my childs face that everyone around was getting a birthday song, besides him. We sat at the restaurant for more than an hour, and no one came to us during that hour. Our waitress when paying the bill , we told her again, to send someone to sing, but when they did come, they sang for someone else at the table next to us, we got so tired of waiting so we just paid the bill and left. This is not the kind of service we would like to experience at SPUR, because I've dined in SPUR my entire life, I would hate to say its a racial issue, but clearly we were treated like real outcasts.
