Unbearable customer service at Spitz

on the 25 October 2015 i collected a pair of Kurt Gaiger wedge shoes which i purchased on lay-bye from Spitz at clearwater. during the course of the last couple months i started hearing a pecu**** noise being made by the shoes every time i tried to wear them, as these are summer shoes the whole of autumn and winter came without me wearing the shoes. the very first time the i tried the shoes again in summer the noise still persisted. i informed the sales consultant Mpho that sold them to me and asked if anything can be done seeing that i no longer have the receipt and it been a year since i bought the shoes. she advised that i bring them back to the store so that they can send them to their quality section to ascertain whether the is indeed anything wrong with the shoes. i did as requested and took the shoes back to the store on the 29 October 2016. on the 6 of November 2016 i received a call from store manager Kwazi who informed that the shoes have returned from the their quality verification section and confirmed that indeed the shoes are making a noise that is unusual and they should not make, however because i purchased them more that a year ago the is nothing they can do about it. i told her that its its completely unacceptable that i should buy shoes that cost +/- R2000.00, look after them exceptionally well and when its detected that the is a manufacture defect in the manufacturing of the shoes i get told just because they are a year old there is nothing that can be done about it. the noise is not caused by my negligence or my excessive wearing of the shoes but something went wrong in the manufacturing of the shoes, and i believe that i only detected it this late because i don't wear them that often. however had i been wearing them on a weekly basis i would have detected it much sooner. i told the store manager to escalate it further cause im not happy nor im i willing to accept that kind of response. on the 10th of November i called back the store to ask if they've managed to resolve my query, the manager Kwezi told me that she escalated it to the regional manager Tanya and they still arrived to the same conclusion that although they agree that the shoes are making a noise that makes them unbearable to wear there is nothing they can do cause they are more than a year old. she them referred me to the their customer care department. i immediately called the their customer care line and spoke to Belinda who i related the story to. she told me she will escalate it to her team leader and give me feedback on how the situation can be resolved, on the 14 of November 2016 i received a call from Belinda informing me that there is nothing they can do cause the shoes are more than a year old.i as a loyal customer of the store find it absolutely unacceptable that i should be punished for a fault that is due to their manufacturing process and i truly believe that the store is simply dismissing my grievance. the motor industry recalls their product all the time from the market when something has gone wrong during their manufacturing process and i would like Spitz to deal with situation accordingly.
