Treated like pond****
I tried to send them a complaint on their facebook page but they simply deleted it. Whatever you do, avoid shopping for shoes at Spitz Shoes. My daughter and I had the most bizarre, offensive treatment on Tuesday. I spotted shoes in the Eatsgate branch earlier after leaving a client's premises, sent her this pic and she said she liked them. So I took her to the Mall of Africa branch after school (because it's just around the corner). I ask the salesman to please bring a pair in my daughter's size. He disappears into the storeroom and returns - without any shoes - and says "yes, we have that size" my daughter and I share a look of ***. I say to the salesman "can we try the shoe?" So off he runs, returning holding the shoebox. Looks at us and says "did you want to try them on?" By this point my daughter already wants to walk out, but since decent quality shoes are fast becoming a rarity in SA, we stay. I curb the desire to say to the salesman "no darling, we just wanted you to bring them over so we can watch you hold them". He runs off carrying the shoes after pulling both shoes out of the box and returns with a poxy shrivelled up piece of stocking smelling like disinfectant and says "put this over your sock" .. not even politely or with a please. She complies and tries the shoe. She says it's a bit tight. I ask for the next size up and he responds immediately "we don't have" so my daughter pulls off the stupid stocking thing, and puts her own shoe back on. The dear gentleman ( ? ) stares at her for a moment then says "oh, let me just check first" runs off and comes back with ... yup - the next size up. My daughter is thoroughly ****ed off with this treatment already but still says thank you and tries the shoe. Which is too loose. So we walk out, go to Bolton shoes and find a lovely pair of lace up Clarkes Oxfords with professional service. Dear Spitz Shoes. Shove it. The last three pairs of Saffron Browne and the J Rennee pair will remain the last I ever buy there. Don't fancy dealing with rabid salesmen who treat me like I'm carrying a virulent disease.
