Return policy on defective goods

I returned a Kurt Geiger shoe yesterday which cost R2200.00, that has spots on it, and where the sole is about to break. The store manager was very arrogant and refused to assist me, saying that the shoe has been damaged because of wear and tear on my side.

I don’t wear my shoes everyday and I take good care of my shoes. I bought this shoe in April 2019, which means I only had this shoe for two months.

He also indirectly stated that the spots on the shoe is as a result of wine or some other liquid that fell on it. I am very furious first of all with the kind of service I got from your store manager where he stated that wine fell on my shoe, just because I attended a wedding doesn’t mean that wine was involved etc. I am a pastor and I do not consume alcohol. Since when is alcohol a chemical? To tolerate such service from arrogant store managers is unacceptable. I buy +/- 3 to 4 pairs of shoes per year at Spitz, and for him to make such allegations like he did is unacceptable.

I want nothing to do with your store, I want my money back as well as a refund for my petrol and the inconvenience caused. I’m going to bring this under the attention of the relevant people I work with as well.

Customer service is key to any organizations growth and to get such unprofessional service for goods I bought cash and where your return policy explicitly states that defective goods may be returned within 6 months of purchase, why do I still have to argue with a store manager who is clearly there just for a salary?

Must I first wait for the sole to break after 6 months and then return it whereby I will be told about your return policy etc.

I would like a formal apology from the arrogant store manager with the name of Nari who made such bad allegations. He questioned my integrity and I feel offended by his bad service and judgment. I use a natural polish for the shoes which I bought from Spitz yet the color is coming off after I clean it. This questions the quality of the shoes to begin with.
