Wrongfully sent to debt collectors

My Son was at Spark schools Witpoortjie. We decided to move him to a different school. We went to spark to ask for a referral letter, which was required by the forwarding school. Spark asked us to settle the outstanding amount in order to be able to obtain the referral letter.

We paid the full amount and we were given the referral letter. This was 2019. Fast forward to 2023 I got a call from debt collectors saying that I owe Spark schools. I called Spark head office and they said I must give them proof of payment. Mind you I nolonger have the Proof of payment as I took it to the school in Witpoortjie so that I could get the referral letter. I have never received any communication from spark schools saying that I owe them. They took me straight to debt collectors (imagine) I'm really angry at this situation because someone along the way didn't do their job and now I must suffer. I have debt collectors calling me and I must keep repeating myself that I do not owe Spark Schools.
